MELANIE GARLAND
Melanie Garland is the Digital Director for the Indiana Council Against Senior Exploitation (IN-CASE). Ms. Garland serves as the Volunteer Supervisor for Indiana's State Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), which provides free and impartial insurance counseling for Medicare beneficiaries. Melanie brings over 10 years of experience working with older adults, persons with disabilities and family caregivers. Ms. Garland is a class leader and master trainer with Powerful Tools for Caregivers, an evidenced based education program for family caregivers. She has a strong commitment to working with older adults, those living with disabilities and their caregivers. Melanie has a passion for health and wellness. She leads senior focused exercise classes in her free time and is certified with the Arthritis Foundation, Delay the Disease, and the Yoga Alliance. Ms. Garland holds a BSW degree from Western Kentucky University.
NANCY MOORE
Nancy Gilmer Moore is the Chairwoman of the Indiana Council Against Senior Exploitation (IN-CASE). Ms. Moore is the Program Director for Indiana Association of Area Agencies on Aging (I4A) and directs the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program, a federally-funded statewide program that helps Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers prevent, detect and report health care fraud. SMP is a program of the I4A, which advocates for quality programs and services for older adults and persons with disabilities. Ms. Moore brings experience in outreach, program management and training to SMP. Previously she worked on a STEM-related project at WorkOne and was on the management team at About Special Kids, a nonprofit that serves children with disabilities. She holds a BA degree from Indiana University.
